Andy Farrell’s men continued their scintillating form to maintain top spot in the championship.
Ireland made it successive bonus point wins in the 2023 Six Nations with a 32-19 win over France in the Aviva this afternoon.
Tries from Hugo Keenan, James Lowe, Andrew Porter and Garry Ringrose and a Player of the Match Performance from Caelan Doris helped Ireland past the World’s Number 2 ranked side.
Lowe, Porter and Keenan had tries in the first half for Ireland who secured the bonus point with Rigrose’s exceptional effort late on.
A Thomas Ramos penalty begun the scoring in the Aviva but Ireland’s response was a try straight from the Joe Schmidt playbook, Finlay Bealham with a neat inside pass to Keenan who sliced through the French defence for the first try of the afternoon.
Ramos reduce the margin to two before Damian Penaud gave the visitors the lead, finishing off a brilliant counter-attacking French try.
James Lowe then bettered the Frenchman with an acrobatic finish that was awarded after a lengthy TMO check as Penaud did his best to get the winger into touch as he dotted down right in the corner.
Johnny Sexton was wayward with the conversion but Ireland then regained the advantage through Porter while a Sexton penalty had Ireland 22-16 ahead at the break.
Ross Byrne had the lead out to nine with a penalty after replacing Sexton but Ramos replied with a drop goal with twenty left on the clock.
But ten minutes later, Ringrose took the game away from the French and ended their 14-game winning streak with a brilliant individual try.
It keeps Ireland’s Grand Slam hopes alive as the championship takes a break for a week.
