“It’s a special club” | Graham Ronwtree on Munster, taking Head Coach role and philosophy

Rowntree will take charge of his first game next month as Munster kick off their pre season.

After a couple of years with Munster, Graham Rowntree was announced last season as the new Head Coach of the province.

Replacing the departing Johann van Graan, Rowntree’s appointment was met with a great response as he added a number of exciting names to his coaching ticket.

He is joined in the ticket by the likes of Mike Prendergast, Denis Leamy and Andi Kyriacou as Munster seek to end an eleven year wait for silverware.

The new head coach sat down to chat to Munster Rugby for his first interview in the role as he discussed his pride at the appointment, hopes for the season and his philosophies.

“The club. It’s a great club. I’ve been here three years now. It’s a special club, with special people. So when the possibility came up, yeah I was very interested.

“Feeling pride to be able to lead such a great group of people.

“I’m delighted, I can’t wait to get going with our first day. I can’t wait

The new campaign kicks off in one month with Munster taking on Gloucester and London Irish in two pre-season games at Musgrave Park.
