Munster face Connacht tomorrow evening in the fourth round of the United Rugby Championship.
Munster coach Mike Prendergast and prop Keynan Knox spoke to the media ahead of Friday night’s Interpro against Connacht in the URC.
The province picked up their first win of the campaign when a dominant first half display guided Graham Rowntree’s side to a 21-5 victory over Zebre last Saturday.
After the side’s opening two losses, it was important they bounced back with a win and they’ll be hoping to do the same when they take on Connacht.
Despite the win, Munster coach Mike Prendergast still believes there’s plenty of improvement to come and that the side need time to bed in the approaches that the coaches have implemented.
“When I speak about it, inaccuracies, there is a bit to do with that in terms of combinations, getting used to each other. We’re implementing as much as we can and how we want to train to how we want to play and that’s going to take a bit of time.”
“In terms of combinations we’ve used 41 players already in three games, so you still have that adjustment of guys getting used to each other, you’ve new systems in place, you’ve a new framework in place so there is that element to it.”
On the score sheet for Munster on Saturday was prop Keynan Knox who’s relishing the opportunity to face Connacht and believes it will be a tough encounter.
“It’s always a fairly feisty Interpro, there’s always, at any Interpro, a bit of behind the scenes everyone knows each other well so there’s always a bit of grit and a bit of pushing and shoving that can happen around the game but everyone’s definitely switched on, we know the task coming up.”
Munster face Connacht this Friday at 7:35pm in the United Rugby Championship.
