Jimmy Lee names his Limerick panel for Allianz League

Lee’s fellow Newcastlewest clubman Iain Corbett will continue as captain this year, and the new manager has named a further eight NCW players in his league panel.

Limerick football boss Jimmy Lee has named a 35 man panel for the 2024 Allianz League, which begins this Sunday.

The Shannonsiders are set to compete in Division Three alongside Antrim, Clare, Down, Offaly, Sligo, Westmeath and Wicklow.

Their first clash comes in Rathkeale this Sunday, as Antrim take the long journey down to Munster to face the Treaty County.

Lee’s fellow Newcastlewest clubman Iain Corbett will continue as captain this year, and the new manager has named a further eight NCW players in his league panel.

This makes Newcastlewest the most represented club in the panel, followed by Adare, who have seven panelists.

While his club is greatly represented, there is no place for the impressive Hugh Bourke, and Lee will hope his attack can be boosted by the return of Ballysteen man Danny Neville, who left the panel in 2021.

Tommie Childs of Galtee Gaels has also made a return to the panel, having departed at the end of 2021, joining Robbie Childs as the only representatives from their club.

Limerick face Antrim in Mick Neville Park on Sunday, with throw in at 12:30pm.
