Limerick Ladies footballer Kristine Reidy was honored last Friday at the LGFA awards, in Croke Park.
She was the sole Limerick representative in the LGFA TG4 Junior Team of the Year, as Limerick were defeated in the All-Ireland semi-final.
Reidy, who has been a long-serving and consistent defender in the green of Limerick, was selected at corner-back in the team, which was dominated by All-Ireland finalists Antrim and Fermanagh.
Kristine is a secondary school teacher in St. Brogan’s College in Bandon and plays her club football with Feohanagh – Castlemahon.
Unfortunately, her grandmother was laid to rest last Thursday, but she quickly saw the bright side of being together with family in Croke Park.
She was also at corner-back as Limerick won the 2018 title, defeating Louth in Croke Park in emphatic fashion.
Antrim scooped eight of 15 positions, after they saw off Ulster rivals to claim the title, after a replay.
Reidy will hope her teammates can return with her to Croke Park as Limerick look to climb out of the Junior grade in 2023.
