Kyle Hayes with the perfect ten as Kildimo Pallaskenry relegate Blackrock

It was the Kyle Hayes show in Ballyagran as the All-Star hit top form.

Kildimo Pallaskenry moved within a point of the Limerick SHC quarter finals with a win over Blackrock this afternoon.

In Ballyagran, the City side ran out 1-27 to 1-14 winners to relegate their opponents with a game to spare.

If KP win next weekend they will be promoted to Senior A, just five years after winning lower Intermediate. A draw against Garryspillane will be enough for a quarter final berth.

Kyle Hayes was the star of the show as the four time All-Ireland winner hit ten from play in a dominating display.

Barry O’Connell and Liam Griffin got KP off the mark before four from Hayes had them 0-8 to 0-1 in front.

Blackrock hit three in a row before reducing the deficit to 0-9 to 0-5.

But Kildimo Pallas dominated the remainder of the half, Hayes getting two more to lead 0-14 to 0-5 at the interval.

Shaun Barry started their second half scoring with a fine double from play.

Hayes took his tally to seven and was joined in the scoring stakes by David Fitzgerald who was impressive at wing back.

On the other wing Cathal Downes added his second before Blackrock won a penalty.

John Chawke stopped Jimmy Quilty’s goalbound effort with KP ten in front.

Hayes hit double digits with five minutes to play as KP moved 0-25 to 0-14 in front.

Chawke then showed his quality at the other end, firing his penalty low into the net to make it a fourteen point game.

In the end the margin was thirteen as Blackrock’s three year stint in the top tier came to an end as KP roll on.
