Limerick Celtics have completed the signing of former St Francis University guard Andre Wolford for the upcoming 2021 – 2022 Men’s National League season.
Andre played his college basketball for St Francis University (PA) and was one of the nations top three point shooters.
Announcing the move, Andre has said that he’s looking forward to the new challenge.
I’m excited to announce I will be continuing my pro career playing in Ireland this upcoming season! The game was taken away from me due to covid last year and I won’t lie, it has been a tough journey since then. Having something you love taken away from you really puts things into perspective. It makes you realize to never take any opportunity for granted
Andre is a 6’2” Combo Guard from Cleveland, Ohio. He had a very solid four year career at St. Francis University from 2015-2019.
His best year came as a Junior in the 2017-2018 as he averaged 13.8 points and 3.0 rebounds and shot a terrific 48.9% from 3! That season he was named the Northeast Conference Most Improved Player of the Year.
He had terrific improvement all throughout his career after starting as a walk-on to playing a significant role in his last three seasons at SFU.
Limerick Celtics are excited to have Andre as part of their team for Men’s National league team for the new season, signing on a one-year-deal.
There are reports of more new signings on the way before the league start.
