Limerick Clubs Learn Fate in Munster Junior Cup Draw

Several Limerick Desmond and District League sides learned their fate today as the draw for the Munster Junior Cup fourth round was made in Cork. The ties are due to be played on the weekend ending 26th January.

Last season’s semi-finalists Gerladines were handed a home fourth round tie against one of Ballymackey or Killavilla United of the Tipperary League. Premier Division rivals Pike Rovers were also given a home draw against Cork outfit Pearse Celtic.

Aisling Annacotty continued the trend of Limerick sides receiving home draws but they have a quartet of possible opponents as Tralee Dynamos and Killarney Celtic have yet to play their second round tie. The winner of that clash will face one of Killarney Athletic or Listowel Celtic in the 3rd round with the winner of that facing Mike Aherne’s Annacotty side.

Desmond League giants Abbeyfeale and Rathkeale must face off in a third round clash before the winner entertains Carrigaline United of Cork.
