Despite being written off by man including this writer for the game, Coonagh United managed to pick up a victory in the first major shock of the season with a 2-1 win over Aisling Annacotty. It is also Coonagh’s first league victory under their new management duo of Paudie Hickey and Ian Connolly.
The win was sealed in dramatic circumstances, but Ronan Ryan had given Coonagh the lead which they held for a long period. In the final minutes, Richkov Boevi equalised and the sides seemed destine to share the spoils until Niall Earls headed home a dramatic winner.

However, second half goals from experienced duo Aled Harkin and Donie Curtin levelled the game before Conor Myers grabbed the winner much to the relief of Richie Burke and co considering results elsewhere.
