Pike and Ballynanty are still joint top of the Limerick District League following two home victories on Sunday morning last.
Pike easily overcame challenge of newly promoted Coonagh with a 4-1 victory at Corsagalla. Eoin Hanrahan (x2), an own goal and Pat Mullins accounted for the Pike goals. Ger Myles pulled one back for Coonagh.
Ballynanty came up against stubborn resistance in the form of struggling Prospect at Limerick Institute of Technology but a superb assist from Shane Guerin played Adrian Power through on goal and he rounded Darren Glasheen before slotting into an empty net in the final minutes.
Janesboro kept up their winning run with a 2-0 home win over Mungret. Two goals from new signing Pat McDonagh provided the Pearse Stadium outfit with the victory, despite the loss of talisman Shane Clarke.
Clarke’s new club Aisling Annacotty were convincing 5-2 winners away at Kilmallock while Fairview Rangers defeated Nenagh 3-0 thanks to goals from Daragh Rainsford (x2) and Paul Danaher.
Geraldines great start to the new season was halted by Regional as Shane Dillon, Paul Sheehan (x2) and Kieran O’Connell grabbed the goals in a 4-1 win. Karl Turner replied for Geraldines at the Garryowen Green.
