Limerick District League Premier Division round-up

There was a packed schedule in the Limerick District League Premier Division on Saturday evening as Pike Rovers overtook Ballynanty Rovers at the top of the table, temporarily at least.

The Crosagalla outfit enjoyed a comfortable 5-0 win over Nenagh with a hattrick from Colin Daly and a goal apiece from Johnathan Grant and Oisin Kelly. Robbie Williams side now go one point ahead of Ballynanty who play Aisling Annacotty on Tuesday night.

Third placed Geraldines were held to a 3-3 draw in an entertaining game with Coonagh. Coonagh have certainly provided plenty of exciting games thus far and have had no problems finding the back of the net against more illustrious opponents.

The free scoring Ger Myles added to his tally along with goals from Liam Morris and Billy Connors. John Spillane’s men showed great character to come back from a 3-1 deficit created by goals from Kevin Barry, Cian Byrnes and Donie Curtin.

Fairview Rangers edged out a tight encounter with Janesboro at the Fairgreen with Daragh Rainsford scoring the only goal of the game from the penalty spot.

Mungret Regional secured a massive 3-1 victory against another side tipped for relegation trouble in Kilmallock. Struggling Prospect were beaten 4-2 by Regional in Dooradoyle as Shane O’Donoghue’s side bounced back from last week’s defeat to Coonagh.
