Limerick fall to Tipperary defeat in Dillon Quirke Foundation fundraiser

Limerick will be happy to have played their part in raising funds for a great cause, and got some more minutes under their belts ahead of the Allianz League.

Limerick lost out to Tipperary on Sunday, as the 2019 All-Ireland champions got the better of John Kiely’s men in Semple Stadium, with all funds raised from the game going directly to the Dillon Quirke Foundation.

The Shannonsiders face Antrim in their opening league fixture this coming weekend, and the clash presented a great opportunity for Kiely’s side to get things right on the pitch, as well as raise funds for an excellent cause.

A new-look Tipperary put 3-27 on a youthful Limerick side, who mustered up 1-20 in response, with Monaleen’s Donnacha O’Dalaigh popping up with the goal. The forward impressed on the day, posting 1-3 from play.

The damage was done in the first half by the Premier, who scored three goals, two of which came from John McGrath, the sharpshooter hitting 2-9 in total.

Limerick will be happy to have played their part in raising funds for a great cause, and got some more minutes under their belts ahead of the Allianz League.

Their Division One clash with Antrim is fast approaching, as the Shannonsiders return to Semple Stadium, the clash scheduled to throw in at 2pm.
