Limerick FC announce underage trial date

Limerick FC have announced that they will be holding open trial dates for their under-13, 15, 17 and 19’s teams on the first weekend of December for the 2019/2020 season. The club’s Academy Director Willie Boland will oversee the trials.

A statement on the club’s website read, “
There will be open trials for our U19 and U17 teams on Saturday the 1st of December
This applies to players born years 2000,2001,2002 and 2003.
Please Send your Name, Club,Date of Birth, Position and Secondary Position to:-
willie.boland@limerickfc.ie
Trials will take place in Hogan Park starting at 12:00
Players Ensure To Bring Their Own Kit.”

As stated, the trials will take place at Hogan Park which has been used as a training ground by the club for many months, having formerly used University of Limerick. The trials for U15’s and U13s will take place on Sunday December 2nd, the day after the U17 and U19’s trials.

Limerick FC’s senior side were relegated from the Airtricity League Premier Division just three weeks ago following a playoff defeat to Finn Harps, Due to financial problems, the trials on the first weekend of December may be very important for the club’s future as recruitment from outside of Limerick will be unlikely. Therefore, Boland will be hoping to find players akin to the quality of Karl O’Sullivan and Will Fitzgerlad who came through the underage ranks at the club and graduated to the senior team last season.
