Limerick FC open Premier Division campaign on the road to Sligo Rovers

Limerick FC will open their SSE Airtricity account against Sligo Rovers for the second season in a row.

Neil McDonald’s charges will visit the Showgrounds to take on Sligo Rovers in their league campaign opener on Saturday, February 17 for a 7.45 kick off.

The Shannonsiders recorded an emphatic 5-1 victory over the Bit O’ Red in the 2017 league campaign opener at Markets Field.

Limerick will welcome Bohemians to Garryowen for their first home game a week later for a 6.30 kick off, while three days later they’re on the road to Oriel Park to face Dundalk.

The Super Blues will host Bray Wanderers in the opening round of the EA Sports Cup on Friday, March 9 at 7.45pm.

Champions Cork come to town for a Munster Derby clash on St Patrick’s Day, while Limerick finish their Premier Division season away to Waterford FC on Saturday, October, 26.

The mid-season break will occur from Saturday, June 16 to Thursday, June 28.

As previously confirmed, there will be 36 Premier Division league games and 27 First Division league games throughout the season.

The Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup final will be played on Sunday, November 4th and the EA SPORTS Cup final will be played on Saturday, September 15th. The President’s Cup final between Dundalk and Cork City will take at Oriel Park on Sunday, February 11th, with kick-off at 2pm.
