Limerick GAA release Master Fixture List for 2020 season

Limerick GAA have relesed their master fixture list for this years club championships.

(Note these Dates and Times are subject to confirmation by CLG in the relaxation of the current phases).

The County CCC reserves the right to amend or change any fixture at its discretion under the rules and regulations of the Association.

Bons Secours County Senior Hurling Championship

The County Senior Hurling Championship shall consist of four groups of three. The six teams that were drawn in the current format in each section group 1 & 2 shall be split into two further groups. i.e.

Round One open draw for pairings

Groups will be decided from last year’s results.

The losing team from Round 1 will take on the third team in Round Two save where the first game ends i a draw. A toss of a coin will determine the team to play the remaining team in the group.

The Top team in each group in Section A qualify for the County Semi Finals.

The second team in each group in Section A qualify for the County Quarter Finals.

The bottom team in each group play in the Relegation Final for Group 2 in next years Championship.

The Top team in each group in Section B qualify for the County Quarter Finals (Draw will be seeded).

The Bottom team from each group in Section B play in the relegation Final for Premier Intermediate in 2021.

Championship and relegation Completed in Six weeks.

The Top Team in each group in Section B shall qualify for the Promotion Final to Section A for the 2021 season. If a team from Section B wins the County Senior Hurling Championship, they will be automatically promotion to Section A for the 2021 season and no Promotion Final will be necessary to the played.

Rd 1 – July 26^th, Rd 2 – Aug 2^nd, Rd 3 – Aug 9^th, Qtr Finals – Sept 6^th, Semi Finals – Sept 13^th & Final – Sept 20^th

If there are situations where the knockout stages can be played during the football window these games maybe spread out even further.

This document will be discussed at this Tuesday Evenings County Committee Meeting and the various draws will take place Wednesday evening next.

County Leagues & Divisional Competitions

Reduced County Senior and Intermediate Hurling and Football Leagues will take place during the Inter County Period.

Divisional Competitions shall take place during this period also.

County U21 Football Championships will take priority.

There will be no County Junior B Hurling and Football Leagues.

The Divisional Junior B Championships will take place in tandem with the County Junior A Hurling and Football Championships.

Club Requests and Observations

The County CCC have received numerous requests and observations and it is the view that Promotion and relegation will form part of this seasons Championship.

Inter County Teams

The County Board will facilitate a discussion with all relevant club managers with both Inter County Managers to discuss the integration of the Club Games Schedule and the Inter County programme. This will also include a discussion on the medical provision by the County for all our Inter County Players whilst in action with clubs over the course of the Club Games Schedule. There will further discussions with the U20 Hurling Manager Paul Beary, Minor Hurling Manager Diarmuid Mullins and Minor Football Manager Joe Lee and Stephen Lavin.

Streaming, Broadcasting & Live Radio

Limerick will stream games on each championship weekend. Pay walls will be utilised throughout the season. Interest has also been shown by RTE 2 and TG4 to televised our games. Live 95fm have also confirmed they will also broadcast games through their medium.

Covid Restrictions and Education

Clubs have been informed through the various webinars and emails of the Protocols dealing with Covid 19 and are requested to follow all guidelines outlined by the Government and Dept of Health.

The County Board will administer these protocols for all our games and the limits attached to same.
