LIT Gaelic Grounds leaps light years ahead in connectivity

Delivery of a solution that will make the LIT Gaelic Grounds one of Ireland’s most connected stadiums is already underway. John McDonnell, Managing Director at Ripplecom, commented,

“As official telecommunications partner, Ripplecom is ensuring that Limerick GAA has communications that perform at the same elite level as their All-Ireland winning athletes. The team at Ripplecom are passionate GAA fans and long-time Limerick supporters so we are delighted with this affiliation and looking forward to the championship season ahead.”

Speaking about the partnership, John Cregan, Limerick County Board Chairman, said,

“Ripplecom are long-time supporters of ours; we are delighted to continue the relationship and to have a company of Ripplecom’s engineering expertise and technical ability behind us as we face into an increasingly connected future for stadiums and for supporters.”

Enabling and empowering Limerick GAA

Robust, high performance connectivity is a key enabler for the GAA. As with so many of Ripplecom’s business customers, reliable connectivity with substantial bandwidth unlocks the potential of digital transformation, cloud migration and more. For Limerick GAA, the new connectivity solution paves the path for the LIT Gaelic Grounds to become a cashless stadium, ensuring a seamless supporter experience on match days and a more secure operation overall.

Connections on and off the pitch
Central to the new partnership is the delivery of a fully resilient, ultra-high-speed broadband connection to the Limerick home ground. The connection is created using Ripplecom’s own high capacity dual WAN service consisting of a 1Gb ComReg licensed radio link combined with a fibre WAN connection to ensure total diversity via land and air. Ripplecom will also supply dedicated connectivity to the centre of excellence at Mick Neville Park in Rathkeale.

GAA offices at Aras Mumhan will be equipped with the best in Ripplecom’s integrated corporate communications. Dual data connectivity and VoIP telephony are married with the company’s unique Orion autofailover to provide holistic cloud connectivity. Limerick GAA will enjoy the support of Ripplecom’s helpful and responsive team and the reassurance of dealing with a highly reputable engineering led telecommunications operator.
