Limerick handed tough schedule in 2019 Munster Hurling Championship

Limerick will begin the defence of their All Ireland title with a a clash against Cork in the Gaelic Grounds in May. After receiving a bye in the opening round, Limerick will once again be in action in three consecutive weeks next summer.

The opening round of the championship takes place on the weekend of May 11/12, a week earlier than last year, but Limerick will not be in action this weekend. The following weekend sees Limerick welcome Cork to the Gaelic Grounds in what promises to be a classic after the pair of encounters the sides played out last summer.

The championship takes a break on the following weekend before Limerick face Waterford on June 1/2 with a venue yet to be confirmed. Clare are next up for Limerick with John Kiely’s side desperate to avenge the loss suffered last year with the All Ireland Champions to have home advantage this time around.

A trip to Thurles to face Liam Sheedy’s awaits Limerick in the final round of games scheduled to take place the weekend of June 15/16. Once again the Minor championship will follow a similar pattern and act as curtain raisers for these games.
