Limerick hurler Kyle Hayes named GAA/GPA Player of the All-Ireland Final

Kyle Hayes scoops Player of The All-Ireland Hurling Final Award while Aaron Gillane collects August Player of the Month.

Kildimo-Pallaskenry club man Kyle Hayes was honoured for his standout performance in last month’s All Ireland decider by being selected as the PwC GAA/GPA Player of the All-Ireland Final award.

Hayes was a dominant force from the half-forward line against Galway at Croke Park hitting four points from play.

The 20-year-old is also nominated for an All-Star this year as well as being favourite to land the Young Player of The Year Award.

While Dublin footballer Jack McCaffrey claimed the award in his code.

Patrickswell native Aaron Gillane was also in attendance to receive his hurling award for August.

Gillane turned in a powerful display from full-forward in the extra time semi-final win over Cork helping himself to 13 points, six of which came from play before hitting three over the bar in the decider with Galway.
