Limerick Interest in Irish Amateur Game

There is Limerick interest in the Irish Amateur vs Irish Colleges and Universities game taking place on Wednesday night with Fairview duo Conor Coughlan and Stephen Bradley facing off for each side in Dublin. The game will take place at Whitehall with a 7pm kick-off.

Bradley will line out for the Irish Amateur side under the tutelage of long-time manager Gerry Davis while Coughlan will be on the opposite side. Both players played in their side’s 0-0 draw with Pike Rovers on Sunday while many Treaty United supporters have expressed a wish to see Coughlan line-out with the LOI side this season due to his recent form.

There are five Rockmount FC players in the squad of 20 players with the most experienced being goalkeeper Brendan O’Connell. Jimmy Carr has been the scourge of many Limerick sides in the Munster Junior and FAI Junior Cup over the years and is also selected.

Treaty United winger William Armshaw will also line-out for a the Irish Universities side and is currently attending the Technological University of the Shannon along with Coughlan. Armshaw made quite an impression for the Airtricity League side this season scoring four goals and producing several important moments on the club’s run to the play-offs. Armshaw has recently committed to another season with Treaty in recent days.

Armshaw is joined in the Irish Colleges and Universities side by six more Airtricity League players including goalkeeping duo Jimmy Corcoran (Cork City) and Colin McCabe of Drogheda United. Recently promoted UCD player Evan Weir and Conor Drinan of Cobh Ramblers will all feature.
