Limerick Ladies continue league campaign with Kilkenny win

The game, which was played in Coolyroe, was a walk in the park for the Shannonsiders, with their opponents putting just one point on the board.

Limerick continued their perfect start to their Division Four Lidl Ladies National League campaign on Sunday, as they put in a dominant display against Kilkenny.

The game, which was played in Coolyroe, was a walk in the park for the Shannonsiders, with their opponents putting just one point on the board.

Michael Quilligan and Sean Kiely’s charges were full of confidence having gotten the better of Derry in the previous round, and were off the mark after just three minutes when Caoimhe MacNamara pointed.

A number of Caoimhe McGrath scores saw the Treaty County head into the interval with a seven point lead, with Kilkenny scoring just one point in the opening half.

The second half got off to the perfect start for Limerick, as Managea’s Karen O’Leary was alive to the situation in the square to finish home.

There would not be another score in the tie until the closing stages, when Substitute Laoise Browne converted to give the Shannonsiders a much deserved 1-9 : 0-1 victory over the Cats.
