Limerick make changes to U20 hurling side for Tipperary meeting | TEAM NEWS

Joe Fitzgerald moves to midfield to partner Con Hayes, with Fintan Fitzgerald named just ahead at centre-forward.

Limerick U20 hurling boss Evan Loftus has named his side to take on Tipperary in Round 2 of the oneills.com Munster U20 Hurling Championship on Friday evening.

The tie is scheduled to start at 7pm in Mick Neville Park, having originally been fixed for TUS Gaelic Grounds.

Loftus has made three changes to the side that lost to Clare in the opening round, with Shane Fitzgibbon, Vince Harrington and Donal Coughlan coming in for David Fitzgerald, Wayne Kearns and Dara Ferland.

Shane O’Brien saw plenty of game time for John Kiely’s Seniors during the Allianz League, and the Kilmallock man is in at full-forward for this one.

Pierce Connery is set to start in goal, with Darragh Langan joined by Mikey and Shane Fitzgibbon in the full-back line.

Matthew Fitzgerald of Monaleen starts at six, flanked by captain Cian Scully and the incoming Harrington.

Joe Fitzgerald moves to midfield to partner Con Hayes, with Fintan Fitzgerald named just ahead at centre-forward.

The Mungret St Paul’s man is supported by Robert O’Farrell and Coughlan, who is the only Doon representative in the match day squad.

O’Brien will be the main threat in the full-forward line. Garryspillane’s Hugh Flanagan is named in the corner with Oisin O’Farrell in the other.
