Limerick Minor and U20 sides to begin Munster campaigns prior to Christmas

Last night it was announced that the Minor and U20 championships are set to be held prior to Christmas.

This will come as a welcome boost to the Limerick squads who would have been fearful of the competitions being cancelled.

The Limerick Minor and U20 hurlers have yet to see competitive action in 2020 while the minor footballers were scheduled to begin their campaign shortly after the lockdown was announced.

Paul Beary’s U20 hurling panel are to face Cork in the Munster Hurling semi-final as are Diarmuid Mullin’s minor squad.

Joe Lee’s minor footballers are to face Waterford in the LIT Gaelic Grounds in the Munster quarter-final.

While no fixtures have been confirmed, the games could begin as early as next weekend.
