Limerick overcome Fermanagh to reach All-Ireland Ladies Junior Final

It was a strong second half from Limerick who kicked just one point in the opening half hour.

The Limerick ladies football team booked their place in the All-Ireland junior football final with a narrow win over Fermanagh this afternoon.

Graham Shine’s side picked up a 0-10 to 1-6 victory against last years finalists to seal their place in the decider. It will be a first final since 2018 when Limerick overcame Louth in Croke Park.

It was a strong second half from Limerick who kicked just one point in the opening half hour.

Indeed the first score didn’t come until the 24th minute with Fermanagh adding a goal before the interval to lead 1-2 to 0-1 at half.

Andrea O’Sullivan drew the sides level in the 43rd minute with Cathy Mee putting them in front for the first time two minutes later.

A pair from Caoimhe McGrath had Limerick three clear approaching the final whistle and while Fermanagh did talk on a pair, it wasn’t enough with the Shannonsiders holding on.

They will meet one of Carlow or Down in the final as they face off tomorrow.
