Reverting to their original formats for the 2022 campaign, there were plenty of talking points to emerge from the Limerick intermediate hurling championships.
Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship
Bruff were the big winners in round one with an eleven point winners over Effin. With the Intermediate champions, Effin, carrying a lot of promise into the campaign, Bruff were seven points clear at the half. In the end the margin was 2-17 to 0-12 with Danny O’Leary and Kyle Dillon getting the goals.
In a repeat of the 2019 Intermediate final, Glenroe and Newcastle West played out a draw while Dromin Athlacca had the minimum to spare over Knockainey.
Monaleen kicked off their return to the premier intermediate ranks with a win over Cappamore in a repeat of the 2016 final when they were both promoted.

Limerick Intermediate Hurling Championship
Shane Dowling’s heroics were the talk of the intermediate championship as his last minute goal stole the victory for Na Piarsaigh over Feohanagh. The All-Ireland winners late intervention was enough for a one point win.
Elsewhere in group one, Bruree defeated Murroe Boher in their first game back in the ranks while Croom and Junior champions Caherline played out a draw.
In group two, last year’s beaten finalists Croagh Kilfinny had one point to spare in their West derby against Granagh Ballingarry. Hospital Herbertstown also had a single point victory when defeating Kilmallock while Pallasgreen were victors against Knockaderry.
