Limerick Premier Intermediate & IHC Round 3 review

As with the Senior championship, there was a full round of fixtures in the Limerick LIT Premier Intermediate championship and County Intermediate Championship over the weekend.

Premier Intermediate Championship

Mungret St Pauls continued their impressive run in the Championship last Thursday evening with a well deserved 0-19 to 2-11 victory over Kildimo-Pallaskenry in Clarina. Paul O’Brien was the star of the show up front for Mungret who are the only team with a 100\% record in the competition.

Last years finalists Garrispillane found themselves eight points in arrears against Bruff at half time on Friday evening but recovered impressively in the second period to record a 2-18 to 1-15 win to push themselves up to second in the table.

Blackrock and Bruree came into their respective games without any points on the board but both earned draws over the weekend. Blackrock came back from a seven point deficit to earn a 1-18 to 1-18 draw against Pallasgreen on  Friday. On Sunday evening Bruree recorded a 2-11 apiece draw with Feonagh who were without All Ireland winner Seamus Flanagan.

After three rounds of the championship played, the table now looks as follows.

Upcoming Fixtures:

Saturday September 8

Pallasgreen v Bruree in Bruff @4pm.

Mungret St Pauls v Bruff in Croom @6pm.

Sunday September 9

Feonagh v Kildimo-Pallaskenry in The Bog Garden @2pm.

 

County Intermediate Championship

In Group 1 of the Intermediate Championship, Croom and Dromin-Athlacca continued their perfect starts with wins in round 3. Dromin-Athlacca were big winners over St Patricks winning out 4-14 to 2-10 on Friday evening. The previous night, Croom overcame Dromcollogher-Broadford on a scoreline of 4-11 to 2-13.

In Group 2, Glenroe kept up their winning streak with a 4-16 to 3-15 victory over Granagh/Ballingarry. Effin picked up a valuable 0-21 to 1-8 win over Clauaghaun/Old Christians while Na Piarsaigh and Newcastle West played out 0-19 to 1-16 draw.
