Limerick side named for rescheduled Cork Munster Senior Hurling League clash | TEAM NEWS

The game was originally postponed due to fog in Mallow, before a frozen pitch in Rathkeale prevented the rescheduled tie from taking place.

John Kiely has named his side for Limerick’s Co-Op Superstores Munster Senior Hurling League clash with Cork, with the game finally set to be played this Sunday in Mick Neville Park at 2pm.

The game was originally postponed due to fog in Mallow, before a frozen pitch in Rathkeale prevented the rescheduled tie from taking place.

Avoid defeat and the Shannonsiders will reach the final of the competition, while Cork know they need a victory to set up a decider against Waterford.

Kiely has made five changes to the team that was announced last Tuesday for the postponed clash, with no starter from July’s All-Ireland win in the XV.

Fergal O’Connor, Colin Coughlan, Aidan O’Connor, Adam English and Shane O’Brien all come into the side, as Emmet McEvoy, Gearóid Hegarty, David Reidy, Donal Coughlan and Luke Flynn make way.

David McCarthy continues in goal, while debutant Ronan Lyons is selected at corner-back, lining out alongside O’Connor and Aaron Costelloe in the full-back line.

Adare’s Ronan Connolly is once again named at centre-back, with Ciaran Barry at wing-back, and Ethan Hurley of Newcastle West coming in on the other flank.

Barry Murphy captains the side in midfield, where he partners Ballybrown man Coughlan.

Micheál Houlihan was named in midfield for Wednesday’s postponed meeting, but moves back to wing-forward, starting alongside O’Connor and Conor Boylan in the half-forward line.

Oisin O’Reilly remains at corner-forward, and he is joined by the returning English and O’Brien as the inside forwards.
