Limerick trio named on GAA.ie Team of the Week after Salthill victory

Tom Morrissey is also one of three nominees for the Player of the Week award alongside Donal Burke (Dublin) and Aidan McCarthy (Clare).

Limerick trio Barry Nash, Dan Morrissey and Tom Morrissey have been named on the GAA.ie Team of the Week after helping the Shannonsiders past Galway in the second round of the league on Sunday afternoon.

Tom was Limerick’s top scorer on the afternoon, hitting over 0-8, with four coming from play and as many more from placed balls as he took over the free taking duties from Micheal Houlihan after he was removed in the second half.

He was named the TG4 man of the match, with his brother Dan presenting him with the award. Dan was again imperious at centre-back as he continues to fill in for the injured Declan Hannon.

Behind him, Barry Nash was at his Hurler of the Year nominee form in his first appearance of the 2023 season in curtailing Galway’s dangerous attack while also starting many of Limerick’s own moves.

It is a first appearance in the Team of the Week of the year for the trio who join Micheal Houlihan and Kyle Hayes who were selected on the second round team.

Tom is one of three nominees for the Player of the Week award alongside Donal Burke (Dublin) and Aidan McCarthy (Clare). You can vote for the award on the Official GAA’s Instagram page.
