Limerick’s Tailteann Cup final round fixture confirmed

The Treaty ensured their place in the quarter-finals with a second successive win over the weekend, defeating Carlow in Netwatch Cullen Park.

Limerick will round out the group stage of their Tailteann Cup campaign on Sunday June 4 in Portlaoise when they take on Wicklow in O’Moore Park.

The game is a dead rubber for both with Limerick already assured of top spot as Wicklow are guaranteed to prop up the table after the opening pair of rounds. Throw in is at 1pm.

Limerick ensured their place in the quarter-finals with a second successive win over the weekend, defeating Carlow 1-19 to 0-14 in Netwatch Cullen Park. That followed a hard fought win over Longford to open their campaign. Mark Fitzgerald’s men are the only team assured of their last eight spot so far.

In the groups other game, Longford and Carlow will do battle to see who finishes second and third in the table with both likely to advance.

Limerick’s early season form has seen them leapfrog Offaly and Fermanagh into fourth in the odds to claim the second ever Tailteann Cup title.
