For Ciarán Carey, this Friday will provide his Patrickswell side with the chance to further cement themselves as the team to beat in the Limerick SHC.
The only team with a 100% record intact, Patrickswell have accounted for Doon, Na Piarsaigh and South Liberties in Carey’s first year back as manager of his club.
There was no All-Ireland semi final hangup in the return to the club ranks for Aaron Gillane, Diarmaid Byrnes and Cian Lynch with a comprehensive 3-17 to 0-12 victory over South Liberties last weekend.
Once again Kevin O’Brien provided the goalscoring touch with another brace to go with his pair of goals against Na Piarsaigh in round 2.
They go into Friday’s game against Kilmallock in the best possible form and manager Ciarán Carey says that he
“Any time Patrickswell and Kilmallock play it always the makings of a good game. Kilmallock are in your top three or four in the last four or five years.
“That hasn’t changes and we have a fair idea of what we are facing on Friday night. We are now in the second phase.
“We won last week on a convincing scoreline and we have loads of room for improvement. Any day you go out, you hope to learn from the previous game and hopefully we will be able to implement that on Friday.”
