Limerick’s attitude when they hit the field against Clare was where you would have expected it to be. They gave an exhibition, as a team, and as a squad.
The most pleasing aspect for me was that it was the nearest team to an actual team performance that you will get. Every line acquitted themselves superbly.
As a Limerick supporter, that’s what you want to see. The demolition they did of Clare is rarely seen.
Looking ahead to this weekend, it doesn’t really matter whether Limerick finish in the top two or third. The one thing I can say though is that if you play Tipperary twice, if you play them three times in the one year, you will be going out to beat them every time.
You can’t beat them enough because they will always be coming back. Limerick will be taking this game on it’s own merits. I would imagine that John Kiely will shake things up again as the subs that came on against Clare were outstanding again.
I would also think that Limerick see this Tipperary team, as it stands now, as the big guns and will want to go down there and take that title off them. They have the ability to do that.
They have the power, they have the strength and more importantly they have the pace up front that will hurt Tipperary. It’s in there that the winning and losing of the game will be.
