Following Sunday’s impressive All Ireland quarter-final win over Kilkenny man of the match Dan Morrissey believes that his side are better prepared than previous Limerick teams to deal with big moments.
John Kiely’s side were quick to respond to Richie Hogan’s goal late in the game. Morrissey says attention will now quickly turn to the semi-final meeting with Cork.
“When Kilkenny got the goal with a few minutes to go we didn’t panic. Limerick teams of old might have dropped the heads and left Kilkenny finish the match but we went down the field, won the next puck out and put it over the bar. At the end of the day it’s only a quarter-final we’re back up in a semi-final in two weeks so we’re back for a recovery session tomorrow and training Tuesday night”
The wing back also spoke about his man of the match performance.
“You have days like that, I threw up the hand and some days you’ll miss it completely and other days it will fall into it. Thankfully today a few of the balls fell into my hand and I didn’t do so bad with them then.”
