LISTEN: Harnett Relishing Munster Champions Cup Final

Rathkeale AFC stalwart Keith Harnett is relishing the possibility of bringing the Munster Champions Cup Trophy to the Desmond League outfit for the first time on Sunday when they face Killarney Celtic at Mounthawk Park, Tralee (2pm).

The county Limerick side take part in their first provincial final in the club’s history and the game will be streamed live on Full Time Productions Facebook page. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, only 200 are allowed in attendance.

While the former Pike Rovers and Limerick FC player realises the challenge facing his side, he is quietly confident that they can cause an upset:

“It would be brilliant to bring back the trophy to the club. It is the first time the club have got to a provincial final. We are underdogs but I’d give us every chance going there. It doesn’t help that it is on astroturf but we have done our preparation and played a couple of games on astro.”

Keith also speaks about his time with Pike Rovers and Limerick FC and how life has been throughout the Coronavirus pandemic. To listen to the full interview, click on the link below.
