All Ireland winning Limerick hurler Seamus Hickey is satisfied with his club’s showing in the County Senior Hurling Championship this year. Having been promoted to the senior ranks last season Murroe-Boher will meet Kilmallock in the quarter finals of the championship this season following a second place finish in group 2.
“It’s great progress. It’s all bonus territory from here we’re playing the county champions of two years ago so it’s a huge challenge.”The new championship structure has been widely lauded by the clubs following the introduction of a super 6 format. Hickey echos that sentiment.
“I think all in all it was a very positive change. I think the adjustment that they made at the beginning of this years championship will pay dividends because when you’re talking about clubs getting value out of playing games and players enjoying it, it’s competitive games that people want.”
