LISTEN: John Kiely “delighted with the attitude” despite loss to Tipp

Limerick suffered a 4-14 to 2-17 loss Tipperary in the Coop Superstores Munster Senior League opener in the Gaelic Grounds in what was a decent game of hurling for December.

Tipperary with Liam Sheedy back in the hot seat started the brighter with Seamus Callanan firing home from the penalty spot in front of a crowd of over 3000 people.

Speaking with reporters after the game, manager John Kiely says he was happy with the performance and attitude of his players.

“I’m actually quite happy with the performance to be honest with you, it is only our second outing since coming back. We only trained last Tuesday evening. Tipperary have four weeks work done a least so it’s a different ball game.

“I was delighted with the attitude, we made a couple of mistakes and were punished badly in the first half. A couple of missed pick ups, again down to not having as much work done on the training field as you would like to have done.”
