LISTEN: John Kiely praises “extraordinary support” of Limerick fans ahead of League QF

Limerick face Laois on Saturday evening in the first of this years National League quarter-finals.

Limerick will enter the game as hot favourites having finished top of Division 1A whilst Laois only picked up a solitary win in Division 1B.

However, for Limerick manager John Kiely, everyone is focused on their job this Saturday as Limerick continue to set out their stall for the year ahead.

“All focus goes into Saturday evening. We have a league quarter-final to play and we are looking to give best performance of ourselves that we can on Saturday evening.”

Limerick’s performances thus far have been relatively consistent bar the poor showing against Cork in the Gaelic Grounds.

Another thing that has struck Kiely is the consistency in crowds that have seen several thousands at the Gaelic Grounds each game.

Kiely is grateful for the incredible support and has issued his thanks to the Limerick faithful.

“We’ve had phenomenal support to be fair. Extraordinary support. I never though two years ago that we would end up in a situation where we would have 13,000 at a League match in the Gaelic Grounds.”

“To have it is special and it’s very important to look after it.”
