LISTEN: Ladies Footballers begin promotion quest against Louth on Sunday

Limerick get their season underway this weekend when they host Louth in Askeaton in the Lidl Ladies National Football League.

John Ryan’s outfit are looking for promotion from Division 4 but they face a team that will be gunning for revenge.

Limerick beat Louth in the 2018 Junior All-Ireland Final and Ryan is well aware of the test facing his charges at 2pm on Sunday.

“It will be a huge challenge. They have been working hard since early November and are going to be a hard team to beat.

“The very minute the ball is thrown in on Sunday, the 2018 All-Ireland Final goes out the window.

“The weather they way it is, it’s going to be a lottery. The ball will be like a bar of soap. Underfoot conditions will be very hard for everybody. It will come down to who wants it most in that given hour.

“We are playing at home. There will be a big crowd there for us and of course we want to win and get a fast start under our belts.”
