Listen – Laura Guest on Munster’s crucial deciding Interpro with Leinster.
The stage is set for an intriguing affair in the Women’s Interprovincial Championship between Munster and Leinster at Thomond Park.
Leinster, coached by Ireland boss Adam Griggs currently sit in pole position in the table, three points ahead of Laura Guest’s charges.
The Blues also have a better points difference, so a losing bonus point would ensure that they secure back to back titles. That means that Munster must win the game by at least 6 points, Guest says that the task is easier said than done.
“It sounds simple but executing it will be a hell of a challenge but one the girl and myself are all looking forward to.”
Munster come into the game following an impressive bonus point win over Ulster in Dooradoyle last weekend, ensuring that they have it all to play for this Saturday.
“We scored some good tries which is always good to see. I think we played with a bit of patience where as we were forcing things a little bit against Connacht (in the first-round loss). It was nice to see the girls open up a bit.”
Grigg’s side come into the game looking to retain their title and are undefeated in their opening two games of this campaign.
“I think Leinster are in a good position. They have great players and there’s great clubs in Leinster. They’re current champions and are a very dangerous side but at the same time Munster love playing Leinster and where better to play them than in Thomond Park.”
Munster and Leinster, clash at Thomond Park (kick-off 2.30pm) on Saturday afternoon and Guest says a healthy home support would be appreciated.
“The Munster women are very honoured to be able to get out to play at Thomond Park, the home of Munster rugby. I think it would be great to see a good crowd and a nice home support.”
