LISTEN: Pat Nolan Reflects on Limerick Success

40 years on from the momentous league title win in Athlone, defender Pat Nolan fondly recalls a tremendous time for Limerick soccer. Considering the troubles we are now facing with no senior soccer representative in the city, a league and FAI Cup win and three years of European football seems like an unrealistic dream.

But, it certainly was the case for a successful group of Limerick players and Nolan was a key member of the team. Pat speaks about his rise from goalkeeper to defender at Wembley as well his first 6 years at Limerick before the arrival of Eoin Hand and the successful era that followed.

Central to the conversation are the European adventures, particularly against Spanish giants Real Madrid as well as the league and cup successes.
