Former Janesboro, Geraldines and Prospect manager Aidan Ryan joined the challenge of selecting the best eleven players he has managed in a coaching career which began in the late 1980’s.
Ryan may be remembered mostly for his time at Prospect which yielded great success for the club which has not been matched since. However, he also coached St. Michaels, Geraldines and Janesboro while spending time as assistant manager under Noel O’Connor at Limerick FC.
Although Ryan enjoyed his time with the Shannonsiders, he opted to leave players out from this time.
“I had a spell with Limerick with Noel O’Connor in the Eircom League. Many players passed through our hands during our couple of years there. Some of the players I have picked for this would have had League of Ireland experience.
I thought it would be best to leave out that part of my career in terms of coaching and just stuck to the junior side which maybe unfortunately for me stretches back nearly three or four decades.”
