Pike Rovers take on Carrick United in Waterford on Sunday afternoon in the Munster Junior Cup (2pm).
Pike defeated Hibernian in the last 16 of the competition on a 3-1 score line having went behind in the first half.
Carrick compete in the Waterford premier division and are currently 20 points behind Hibernian but Sheil feels there will be no complacency among the Pike ranks.
We were actually down there this time last year in the same competition in the quarter final and we played what would have been the second team of Carrick.
We found it quite difficult on the day. We were 1-0 down for a lot of it and we only got through 2-1 in extra-time. Hopefully that will cut out any air of complacency.
Pike were due to play Prospect in the last 16 of the Lawson Cup but it was postponed due to the inclement weather. Sheil said that the team trained upon hearing of the postponement and it didn’t disrupt them.
Calla was going to take the game as I went down to watch Carrick. We went training afterwards and we know the distances that the lads have and we put three quarters of a match into them in training.
Sheil also discusses the performances of Conor Kavanagh and Johnathan Grant in recent weeks as well as the upcoming Tuohy Cup final against rivals Janesboro.
