LISTEN: Tracy discusses squad aims for new season

Limerick FC player Shane Tracy will enter his 12th season at the club in 2019 after signing just three weeks ago. The former Wembley Rovers man was given a testimonial by the club at the end of the 2017 season following ten years service.

Tracy admits he thought long and hard about committing to another season with his hometown club. “I had to take a couple of things into consideration. I’ve been working full time over the last couple of years and family matters came into consideration. It was more of a case of seeing what way it could work. In fairness the club were very good and understanding.”

Limerick have reverted to part time status this season having been a full time outfit since 2013. With work commitments this has suited Shane but he says everybody in the squad has adapted well to it. “The lads are still working very hard. To be fair to them they are a young bunch and are very fit. They are also in the gym and have great facilities there. They have all embraced it.”

The former Arsenal youth players also speaks about his role in the squad as well as the aims for the season. To listen to the full interview, click on the link below.
