LISTEN: UL’s Tom Morrissey – “Every time we went onto the pitch, we played for the team”

Tom Morrissey is hoping for further success in 2018 after winning his first Fitzgibbon Cup medal on Saturday with UL.

The Ahane native was instrumental for Gary Kirby’s side as they overcame DCU by six points in Mallow.

He becomes part of the first group to win both a Fresher All-Ireland championship and a Fitzgibbon Cup, something he is very proud of.

“I think it just shows that you’re part of such a special group… It’s going to bring special memories for the future.”

The 21  year-old is looking forward to getting back onto the pitch in the club and inter county scene and is hopeful for a “successful” year with Limerick.
