The Limerick senior footballers welcome Leitrim to Kilmallock this Saturday having suffered defeat at the hands of Wicklow in Aughrim a fortnight ago.
In the wake of the defeat, Limerick’s first of the season, manager Billy Lee outlines how the side sat down to speak about any issues in the camp, with the Newcastle man hoping his side can learn from the discussion.
“We had a good discussion. Putting it out there some home truths about ourselves and a unit, management and players. We are all in this together.”
Limerick started their campaign with two wins from two, playing a much better brand of football than we have seen in recent years as his young squad continues to adapt to senior inter-county.
Lee is hopeful his side will have learned from the opening three rounds as he prepares for a Leitrim side that have picked up three wins from three thus far.
“Certainly the
challange that Leitrim bring, based on last year, will test whether we’velearnt . We’ll take it from there then.”
When asked about the challenge he expects from the Connacht side, Lee was bullish in his answer saying;
“A
full on onslaught… You can be sure they will play for 70 minutes. They will be high in confidence”
