The sides met in the final in 2020 where Limerick claimed a first title in fifteen years before going on to win the League that year.
Limerick’s McGrath Cup final against Cork is set to be played on Friday, January 20 in Mallow with throw-in at 7.30pm. The game was initially fixed for Wednesday but was changed today.
Limerick will be seeking a repeat of the 2020 decider when Billy Lee’s men captured a first title in fifteen years in the Gaelic Grounds with a 0-20 to 0-16 victory.

Now under the tutelage of Ray Dempsey, Limerick secured their place in the final with a 2-10 to 1-13 draw with Tipperary over the weekend. That followed a comprehensive 17-point win over Waterford with Limerick topping the Premier on scoring difference after they also beat the Deise.
Cork had victories over Clare and Kerry to book their final berth. They are seeking a first title since 2018 and a ninth overall after losing to Kerry in last year’s decider. Limerick have seven titles to their name.
These sides will also meet in the National League later this year with both operating in Division 2. It will be Limerick’s return to the second tier after a fifteen year wait.
