Mike Prendergast hoping for improvements “day by day, week by week” in Munster attack

Munster kicked off their preseason at the weekend as they now prepare for London Irish on Friday.

Defeat was Munster’s lot in their preseason opener last Friday as the Graham Rowntree era at the province began.

A poor first half saw Munster trail 0-21 at the interval but three second half tries from Alex Kendellan, Calvin Nash and Ruadhan Quinn pointed at bright sparks as the club turns its attention to London Irish this weekend.

For new attack coach, Mike Prendergast, Friday’s contest at Musgrave Park was a first chance to see how things are progressing with the former player hoping to get better “day by day, week by week.”

“In terms of what we wanted to get out of it, we saw a lot. In the second half, it probably broke up a bit more and in terms of attack, we got into more of a shape and what not. There was good positives and great work ons. There were good images to see how and where we can get better.

“As I said it’s day by day and week by week that we will start to layer stuff.”
