Mungret Regional Achieve FAI Club Mark Award

Limerick District League side Mungret Regional have achieved the entry level FAI Club Mark Award. It is a timely achievement as the club are celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2021.

Recently, the club managed to secure the land adjacent to the existing pitches and plan to turn it into another top class playing surface. Mungret are currently competing in the Premier Division under Ritchie Burke and will be hoping to maintain their place in an ultra-competitive division this season.

The Junior A team was at its strongest in the late 1980’s and early 90’s as they were crowned Premier Division and Munster Junior Cup champions in 1988 and 1994 respectively. Also, the club just missed out on FAI Junior Cup glory in 1996 when they lost to Waterford Bohs in the final.

Mungret Regional will also be delighted with the fact that 10 ex-players are competing at various levels in the SSE Airtricity League and they also boast numerous teams competing at junior level and underage level in the city.

“Mungret Regional F.C. would like to thank all their coaches, committee, players, parents and all of their volunteers who helped to achieve this Club Mark award.”
