Munster have today confirmed that they will play London Irish in a pre-season game at Musgrave Park.
The fixture with former Munster coach Declan Kidney’s exiles takes place in Cork on Saturday, September 13. Munster play Connacht in Galway a week later.
It will be the ninth time in 12 seasons that the two sides have met in the build up to their respective seasons.
Once again, the sides will compete for the Jack Wakefield trophy, named in honour of the young London Irish fan that passed away 14 years ago.
When the teams met in 2018, Munster ran out victorious on a 32-28 scoreline thanks to tries from Mike Sherry (2), Darren Sweetnam, Brian Scott and Dan Goggin.
It will be the second time that Kidney, who led Munster to two European Cup titles, will bring London Irish to has native Cork.
