Munster claim Under-18 Girls Interprovincial Championship

Munster Under-18 girls saw off Ulster 23-12 at Barnhall RFC on Saturday to claim their first Interprovincial title.

Head coach Eugene McCarthy named an unchanged side for the game following wins over Leinster at home and Connacht at Ballinasloe.

Ulster struck first in the game claiming an unconverted try before a Ciara Clancy penalty cut the deficit to two points.

After that Munster went on to take control of the game Rebecca Hayes went over for a try which Clancy converted to open up a five-point gap before Muirne Wall dotted down out wide to take the lead to ten-points at 15-5.

Clancy added another three points from the boot following that, while Hayes claimed her second try. Ulster scored late on but it was merely a consolation as Munster ran out 23-12 winners and claimed the title.
