Munster Confirm Keatley’s Treviso Switch

Munster have today confirmed that Ian Keatley will join Italian Pro14 outfit Benetton Treviso at the end of the season.

Keatley signed for Munster from Connacht in 2011 with 180 appearances for Munster to date notching up an impressive 1247 points.

The 31 year old is a former student of Belvedere College and has earned seven Irish caps. He is third on the list of all-time top points scorers in Guinness PRO14 (1,428 points) and fifth on the list of most games played (196 matches).

Keatley will be joining a much improving Italian side who are currently in 3rd place in conference A. With Leinster out in front there is a hugely competitive battle for the remaining two playoff places with just two points separating Edinburgh in 2nd and Ulster in 5th.

Should the Italians to make it through to the playoffs, it would represent a major breakthrough for their development as well as being a historic achievement.
