Munster dealing with a number of injuries ahead of Stormers clash

The Munster squad are preparing at the HPC ahead of Saturday’s URC clash against Stormers at Thomond Park (5.15pm).

It will be a repeat of last year’s URC Grand Final this Saturday, as Munster clash with Stormers at Thomond Park. Match tickets are available here.

On the injury front, Diarmuid Barron will follow the graduated return to play protocols after being removed on Friday night and failing a HIA.

Liam Coombes suffered a shoulder injury while playing for Garryowen and will see a specialist this week for review.

Elsewhere, RG Snyman (chest/shoulder), Joey Carbery (wrist), Patrick Campbell (ankle), Roman Salanoa (knee), Mike Haley (hip), Cian Hurley (ankle/achilles) and Niall Scannell (groin) are all continuing to rehab.

There were 15 Munster players in AIL action for their clubs at the weekend.

Four Academy players were in Munster derby action as Cork Constitution beaten Shannon 43-24. Mark Donnelly featured for Con with Ethan Coughlan, Kieran Ryan and Daniel Okeke starting for Shannon.

Keynan Knox, Shay McCarthy, Fionn Gibbons and Ruadhán Quinn started for Young Munster as they were beaten 26-24 away to UCD.

In Division 1B, Jack Oliver scored two tries and kicked four conversions as Garryowen were beaten 41-38 by Naas. Liam Coombes also touched down but sustained a shoulder injury with Jack Daly, Neil Cronin and George Hadden also featuring.

Jack O’Sullivan was a try-scorer for UCC in their 34-29 loss to Old Belvedere.

In Division 2A, Evan O’Connell lined out for UL Bohemian in their 31-7 defeat to Cashel.
